Ioannis Kamarianos is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Classroom at the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras. In 1991 he received a doctoral scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation and in 1996 he was awarded a doctorate in Sociology from the University of Crete. He has been teaching for 16 years in Higher Education in the subjects of Sociology of Education and School, Sociology and Sociological Theory, Socialization and Sociology of New Technologies. Since 1989 he has been a member of the publishing team of the scientific review Step of the Social Sciences. He has also been a research and scientific collaborator at the Universities of Crete and Thessaly, while he has also taught at the University Institutions of Cyprus, Vienna and Salzburg. His research work yielded 35 publications and 46 papers at international and national conferences.
